GOURD bowl home grown decoupaged paisley design decorative art home decor
This is a gourd that I grew myself in my home garden here in Lapeer Michigan.
I decided to turn this into a bowl because of the perfect shape. The inside is painted a pinky-cranberry color with a sealer in it. Not for food use and you cannot use it for water but a lovely silk flower arrangement would be perfect, or use it to hold any number of things such as potpourri, small gourds and more!
The outside is decoupaged with two to three layers of a beautiful paisley pattern, and the rim adorned with lace ribbon.
Finished with several coats of UV resistant varnish .
Height to top is about 5" tall, widest point across is about 6 1/2" and opening is about 3 1/2" in diameter.
*****All of my gourds are homegrown! It is at least a year long process - I start seeds in April, transfer to garden end of May, they spend a summer enjoying the heat (and hopefully rain!) and then they rest and cure in my barn or greenhouse during the winter. In the spring, they are dried out, hard-shelled and ready for creating pieces of functional, whimsy art for the home!!
