Gourd vase Art hanging plant flower holder planter silver gold homegrown home decor decorative hand painted silk roses
Beautiful planter or vase for a silk flower or plant, made from a hardened gourd top.
I grow all my own gourds here in Lapeer Michigan and once they are cured and dried, then cleaned, the gourd helps me decide what it wants to be. I consider the gourds a unique gift from nature, as no two ever are alike!
I used the top of a gourd that had been cut for a bowl. I used metallic acrylics to accent the gourd and even left a little of the gourd to show through. I then added 3 coats of a non-yellowing varnish to keep the design nice. I added twine for the hanger and some silk roses and rosebuds. No green thumb needed!!
The gourd measures about 14" including stem. Total length from top of the string to gourd stem is about 23". The opening is about 4 1/2" diameter.
**If a gourd gets "re-wet" and stays wet, it could eventually turn to mush so I do not recommend using soil or water but you could if you line it first with thick plastic or a floral water tube. Otherwise, a silk or rubber (faux) plant works great.
To clean, you may wipe it or dust with a dry cloth.
Please contact me with any questions. I do combine shipping - you may contact me if you'd like a quote. Gourds are pretty light but a little bulky. I use great care with packaging and shipping and always include tracking information.
